Our Residential Pre Purchase Building Reports Explained
We offer three distinct residential pre purchase building inspection reports:
- Structural Building Report
- Full Building Inspection Report
- Premium Pre Purchase Building Inspection
How do I know which report I need?
The first step in assessing which building inspection you need depends on how much detail you require in your report and what you actually need assessing. Let’s look at what each of our reports contain, what they cost and their turnaround times:
1. Structural Building Report
If you are only looking to assess the structural integrity of your prospective home, this is the report you need. We inspect items pertaining to the home’s structure which include:
- Footings and floors
- Walls (both internal and external)
- Roof structure (roof frame is entered if safe access is provided)
- Ceilings and certain external structures such as patios, pergolas and retaining walls
If you are buying a home to renovate or you are comfortable examining non-structural items yourself, this report provides a highly useful and concise summary of the home’s current structural state.

Why Do I Need a Building Inspection?
Commissioning a pre purchase report, either structural, full building or premium will ensure the property you are purchasing will have no hidden structural defects or maintenance items that will be costly if not exposed prior to the settlement of the home.
Although small structural defects may not pose immediate problems to the home, they can prove costly when the home is on sold to another party and these problems are found and reported by their Construction Consultant. Building inspections uncover problems before it’s too late!
Some Common Problems in Residential Properties
